Total Mukti is a team of Music Director/Composer/Songwriter/Producers, consisting of Saikat, Shankar and Karthik.
Currently we are working on music albums for multiple artistes, film soundtracks and advertising jingles.
We are also one of the first few composers using the power of the internet, working with musicians located at different places in the world and producing music by sharing digitally recorded files.

Saikat Roy
Currently a music composer, although started as a singer in the past. Grew up on a staple diet of Indian film, pop and classical music followed by western classical/classic rock/pop music. Learnt various elements of guitars, keyboards, software and hardware based music production, film background scores, studio recording and mixing techniques. Saikat is an engineer from IIT Kanpur with a background in IT software consulting.

Shankar R.
Music composer, guitarist, keyboard player, singer, recording and mixing engineer. An unlimited wikipedia of Indian, hollywood and world cinema and music. Vast experience with playing live music on stage with multiple bands. Always aware of the latest updates in musical gear and gadgets, very quick in mastering such equipments. Shankar is an electronics engineer from IIT Kanpur with a background in hardware electronics chip design.

Karthik Chandan
Started as a lyricist and songwriter. Already credited with lyrics for songs by Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sadhna Sargam, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Naresh Iyer, Zubeen Garg and many others. Started working on his own compositions sometime back. Karthik is a graduate engineer with a background as business analyst.
Long before Total Mukti started becoming recognized as music composers, the journey involved various phases in the evolution.
EARLY DAYS
It all started way back when Shankar and Saikat met each other in IIT Kanpur. A common interest in learning and performing music resulted in several stage performances. The sleepless nightouts, music competitions and jamming sessions with other musician friends soon followed.
FORMATIVE YEARS
The next few years were the most formative ones when original music compositions and recordings held center stage. Many of the songs were produced and completed by sharing recorded files over the internet and that meant distance did not matter anymore. Collaboration with several musicians and vocalists all over the world followed soon after.
NEW TEAM MEMBER
Karthik joined the team sometime during this phase. An interview with Channel V and VJ Aditya also happened during this time.
